Celebrate Your Inner Jock

When Eddie Lacy slipped down to the Mixedtees.com fantasy football team at the 7th pick, I could see the heaven’s part and the light shining down on us. Following picks included Lamar Miller, Odell Beckham, Jarvis Landry and somehow amazingly we ended up with both Travis Kelce and Tyler Eifert. I see a late season trade here.

Inspired by our seemingly successful draft and a week 1 win, we decided to make this week all about Fantasy Football

Starting today, we are going to release our new designs for all of you fantasy fanatics out there.

Whether you are the league Commissioner, a Legend in your own mind, the league champ or if you just want to rub salt in someone’s eye, we have something to celebrate your Fantasy season. Use coupon code FFL25OFF for 25% off at checkout for the rest of the week. Celebrate your inner jock with a hoodie, tank top or tee shirt with one of our unique designs. We also have tote bags if you prefer.

I have some tips for people struggling this year and want to get in a late draft for a new team. With 29 years of Fantasy Football Experience, I want to give you some tips I’ve been able to perfect the art of winning in fantasy football. And while I don’t win a Superbowl every year, I am almost always in the playoffs...

1.  Always take a running back with your first two picks. I don’t care if Gronk, Aaron Rogers or Antonio Brown is there, always take a running back. Quarterbacks, Tight Ends and Wide Receivers are plentiful this year for fantasy points. But good running backs who will provide for you every week. You have your obvious choices like Jamaal Charles and Eddie Lacy, but they finished 6th and 7th the first week in scoring. Matt Forte, Chris Ivory and Bishop Sankey were the top three performers. Don’t forget Alfred Morris who had a good week for 121 yards off a tough Miami Dolphins Defense.

2. Draft running backs and Wide Receivers for the first 7 rounds. This will cover your 2 starting RBs, 2 starting WRs, your flex position and give you a couple guys on the bench. When you get to the 7th or 8th round, draft a quarterback. Yes you missed Tom Brady, Aaron Rodgers, Andrew Luck and Drew Brees, but did you know that Carson Palmer, Marcus Mariota and Alex Smith were 2nd, 3rd and 4th in points this week. These guys don’t even get drafted in most leagues. So don’t worry. Just be patient.

3. Draft another running back and a wide receiver. I know you are thinking Gronk, Graham and Olsen are off the board… I need a Tight End! No you don’t. 13 tight ends scored more than 10 points in week 1 and Olsen wasn’t one of them. Jenkins, Kelce and Eifert are all studs and they will be there at your 10th pick.

4. Now draft a couple long-shots. I picked up Percy Harvin and James Jones toward the end of my draft. I wish I would have started them both in hindsight. They had fantastic week 1 performances. I did not, but they are on my team and everyone else watch out!

5. I know what you are saying right now. Hello? I need a kicker and a defense. Yes, technically you do on game day, but if they don’t make me draft a defense and a kicker I won’t! Yep no way. I wait until the day before games start and I hang out on the waiver wire. I wait to see if any of my sleepers that I picked get injured before the season starts, then I replace them with a kicker from a team that I think will struggle to get in the end zone but not into field goal range if you catch my drift. Choose someone accurate and if that teams offense looks like it will struggle replace him with another kicker the next week. There should be 8 to 10 decent kickers that never get drafted.

6. Defense. This is probably the best part of Fantasy Football for me. Every week I go with a new defense unless I get someone on a roll. You know what I do? I go to NFL.com and I look up the worst offense and the best defense. I scroll up the worst offenses until it matches with the highest defense still on the waiver wire. I pick them up, start them for a week and then depending on who they play the next week I rinse and repeat.

10 Superbowl wins, 20 playoff seasons and 9 years where I didn’t’ listen to my own advice or just couldn’t resist picking ADP, Michael Vick, Dan Marino, RGIII and other people who went out for the season in the early part of the year.
If you have any questions about your team or even possible trades, hit me up on our contact form.

Don’t forget to take 25% off all this week with coupon code FFL25OFF. My favorite design is the tournament brackets that say ME, YOU, ME Sorry not Sorry. That is my favorite hanging out with the guys on game day. They should understand our natural pecking order ;)
