Back to School Shopping on Mixed Tees
As parents we never plan for this -- the several hundred dollars we spend buying Back to School clothes for our kids. As a parent of 5 (3 at school age), I am soooo happy that I work for a tee shirt company when it's time to buy clothes. Now, if we could just start selling jeans, shoes and backpacks, I wouldn't have to feel like I am shelling out cash for a mini Christmas at the end of every August.
Since you are here and hopefully doing some back to school shopping for yourselves, I want to make sure you have the down and dirty on sizes. it would be great if there would be a universal child's small, but that just doesn't seem to be the case. Now, my 3 school age children are 10, 12 and 14
My 10 year old is on the small side at about 50 pounds and 55 inches tall. While the small usually fits average sized 6-8 year olds, she fits in the small perfectly
My 12 year old is also on the small side for his age at 75 pounds and 59 inches tall. While the medium usually first average sized 9-11 year olds, he fits just right in the medium
My 14 year old is average for his height and as a brand new Freshman in high school at 95 pounds and 63 inches tall, he just moved out of the Youth Large and into the Adult Small. Our Youth Large shirts are for average sized 12-13 year olds or smaller 14 year olds.
While most of us are happy the kids are back in school and back into routine (I personally wish summer would last forever if it would keep me from doing their homework), no one is looking forward to the added expense. So, if you made it this far into our Amazing blog, I want to reward you with a 25% off coupon. Use the code BACK2SKEWL when you checkout for a 25% savings through Sept. 15, 2013.
From one parent to another, I say good luck and happy shopping!
